What Is Health?
Health is a term that is often thrown around but can mean different things to different people. To me, being healthy means feeling good both physically and mentally. It is having the energy to live my life without limitations and being able to enjoy the things I love.
However, many people associate health with physical appearance or strength. This was evident in my inspiration for this blog post, Mike Menzer. As a bodybuilder, he was seen as the picture of health due to his muscular and lean physique. But, as we now know, his use of anabolic steroids ultimately led to his early death.
It's important to remember that true health goes beyond just looks. Internally, our bodies need to be functioning properly for us to truly be healthy. Taking shortcuts like using steroids may give temporary physical gains, but it can have harmful long-term effects on our organs, including the heart.
In conclusion, health is a multifaceted concept that involves both physical and mental well-being. It's important to prioritize our overall health and not just focus on achieving a certain aesthetic or level of strength. We should strive for sustainable and healthy habits that support our bodies inside and out.
